Voids

“Voids One & Two” is a collection of songs I wrote between 2007 to 2010 and decided to give away for free through my website, music.djgsound.com. They’re songs I felt compelled to share with people in a direct and personal way, from the heart, without record labels, commercialism or cynicism. It was an opportunity to directly do what all artists do in their own way, which is connect with people through their art.

For me Voids was hugely successful. I don’t think I could have asked for anything more. Thousands of people have downloaded Voids either through my website or through many of the blogs and online magazines that covered it. Hundreds of people donated money, something I never expected. It’s been an intensely gratifying, inspiring, humbling and fulfilling project to work on, and deeply rewarding to me as an artist who is trying to do things differently.

From the bottom of my heart I want to thank everyone and anyone who downloaded any of the songs off Voids One & Two. Thank you to everyone who chose to pay (any amount) for this music, your support has been way beyond any expectation I ever had. Thank you so much to all of the journalists and bloggers for being so willing to help me get the word out, and for writing such flattering (and blush-inspiring) articles about the music. Thank you to everyone who has emailed, facebooked, twittered, or told me in person how much you like Voids, your support means so much to me. Thank you to all the DJs who have played these songs in the clubs, put them in mixes or played them on the radio.
